APTA and FTA plan to collaborate on an ongoing series of virtual trade missions. These events aim to provide companies serving the transit industry, regardless of their prior experience doing business internationally, with essential information and tools to access and to compete in the market for transit goods and services in the country of focus, without incurring travel costs. They will include information about upcoming tenders, how to track opportunities, and provide contacts and resources for pursuing market opportunities. For more information, please contact Jessica Bechir, program manager- international programs.
FIFA World Cup in 2014 Creates New Opportunities in Brazil
Brazil must act quickly to improve its transportation infrastructure in time for the World Cup it will host in 2014. The Brazilian government has pledged billions of dollars to improve the urban transit system in the twelve host cities. A major part of this investment will include integrated bus corridors, subway lines, and light rail systems. U.S. companies will be competitive in providing goods and services related to traffic control, safety, maintenance, and a broad range of wireless and wire line communications-based information and electronics technologies.
