SUBJECT: APTA VICE CHAIR – STATE AFFAIRS VACANCY

APTA Vice Chair – State Affairs Allen D. Biehler announced that he will not seek the additional one-year term for which he is eligible on APTA’s Executive Committee.

The purpose of this memo is to advise all eligible APTA members of this vacancy and urge interested nominees to act immediately. Nominations for APTA officers and directors for the coming year, 2007-2008, close on Thursday, July 26, 2007. The APTA Nominating Committee meets Monday, August 6 to select the slate of officers to be considered for election at the APTA Annual Business Meeting, Sunday, October 7, during the annual meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Under the APTA bylaws, “… the vice chair-state affairs shall be a state chief administrative officer or deputy chief administrative officer responsible for public transportation of a member in good standing or the chief executive of an association member in good standing.”

The required nomination and authorization form and the 2007 nominating committee roster are available on APTA’s web site at www.apta.com.
