The Rail Safety Review Board oversees APTA's Rail Safety Review Service
which has a two-fold purpose: promotion and oversight of the Rail Safety Audit Program
audit and investigation of major rail accidents, as well as the provision for peer
reviews. The Rail Safety Review Board also involves itself in activities relative to the
safety regulation of the rail transit industry.
