The International Bus Roadeo showcases the skills of bus operators and maintenance staff. Contestants from transit systems across North America participate in separate competitions, which showcase their skills in safe driving and vehicle maintenance.
Working with the host transit property's staff and APTA's staff advisor, the International Bus Roadeo Committee plans and conducts the events for the operator and maintenance team competition.
The committee acts so that the activities are conducted in a fair and equal manner. The committee meets at the host property site several months prior to the Roadeo to plan the events as well as review and update the contestants' International Bus Roadeo Handbook.
