Welcome!

Welcome to an APTA technical forum dedicated to the advancement of technical design, maintenance and operation of elevators and escalators for transit systems.

Forum members include representatives from transit agencies, manufacturers, distributors, consultants and contractors. Forum members meet at least twice a year in coordination with conferences of APTA and meetings of associated organizations such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the National Fire Protection Association.

The Forum is also continuing to develop and update guidelines for the design, operation and maintenance of elevators and escalators as part of APTA’s Standards Development Program.
