This committee is comprised of transit officials of systems operating less than 100 buses. The committee provides a forum for discussion, information dissemination, and other activities of mutual interest to small operators.
The committee sets the direction for APTA activities that benefit small operators and evaluates legislation and federal regulations affecting small operations.
The Small Operations Committee also supports the biennial Transportation and University Communities Conference. The committee also evaluates legislation and federal regulations affecting small operators.
Small Operations Steering Committee
The Small Operations Steering Committee is made up of 26 elected members from the Small Operations Committee.
The purpose of the steering committee is to guide, organize, and support the committee as a whole ensuring that the voice of small transit systems is heard and to increase the overall awareness of the unique needs of small systems.
The steering committee is responsible for the development of the annual agenda for the committee as a whole. The annual committee agenda focuses strongly on legislative and regulatory issues affecting small operators.
The steering committee also works to ensure strong small operation representation is reached on a variety of other APTA committees that address small operational needs.
