This APTA State Affairs Committee's purpose is to provide a forum for identification, discussion, and resolution of public transit issues by state transit associations, state departments of transportation, transit systems, and affiliated interests. The committee is comprised of state association executive directors and officers, state department of transportation officials, and transit system general managers.
The development of the annual State Public Transit Partnerships Conference;
Network and coalition building efforts to build state support for transit funding;
Responding to appropriate technical issues;
and, improving the management of state transit associations.
Regularly scheduled calls to discuss state transportation issues.
In person meetings at the yearly State Public Transit Partnerships Conference, APTA Legislative Conference, and APTA Annual Meeting.

Membership in the committee is open to all full time employees or officers, including board members, of APTA member organizations that have an interest in state issues.
