QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifying contestants must meet all the qualifying criteria of an operator competing in the International Bus Roadeo. (See General Information, A&B)
Qualified contestants need not be competing in the 2008 International Bus Roadeo to be eligible to compete in the Customer Service Challenge. However, those contestants not competing in the driving portion of the roadeo must inform Jack Gonzalez at jgonzalez@apta.com before April 22, 2008, that they will compete in the Customer Service Challenge preliminary judging.
NOTE: Contestants are not guaranteed a competition position in the final Customer Service Challenge. Only a maximum of seven competitors will advance to the final round on Monday.
- GENERAL INFORMATION
Preliminary Judging – Saturday, May 3, 2008
(2008 International Bus Roadeo Site, Austin)
Interested contestants must participate in a preliminary judging event during the Saturday practice of the International Bus Roadeo. The preliminary judging will be based on a brief face-to-face interview with a judging panel.
Contestants may not watch or be in the competition area before or after competing.
After interviewing all interested contestants, the judging panel will select up to seven contestants from the preliminary interview process to advance to the Customer Service Challenge finals to be held on Monday, May 5, 2008.
Finalists will be announced at the Roadeo Swap Meet following the Roadeo, Sunday, May 4, 2008.
Final Judging

Contestants selected as finalists from the preliminary judging round will participate in the finals of the Customer Service Challenge on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 2:15 p.m.
CUSTOMER SERVICE CHALLEGE AWARD
The first place winner in the Customer Service Challenge will receive a plaque or trophy. The transit systems of the winner will also receive a plaque.
The Customer Service Challenge is not included in the scoring for the Grand Championship.
