APTA Community Service Project
Friday, September 30
8:30 – 4:30 p.m.
This year’s Annual Meeting and EXPO in New Orleans will provide an opportunity for attendees and exhibitors to help rebuild homes destroyed in Hurricane Katrina.
On Friday, September 30, and Thursday, October 6, APTA will partner with the St. Bernard Project, an organization that has rebuilt more than 350 homes in the New Orleans area with volunteer labor and currently has over 45 more homes under construction. The APTA volunteers will be working on 8 to 10 homes that are being rebuilt for their owners who are still in temporary housing.
APTA’s business members are organizing the workday on September 30, and all APTA members, and their family members, are welcome to participate that day. The business members are also planning an activity that evening to bring all the volunteers together to celebrate their accomplishments. A second workday will be held on October 6 for any APTA members that would prefer to work after the conference is over.
Mark your calendar now and when you make your travel plans, add an extra day to join us as APTA helps rebuild New Orleans.
