 TCRP C-19 FuelCost2 Workshop

At APTA's 2010 Bus & Paratransit Conference & International Bus Roadeo
Cleveland, Ohio

Tuesday, May 4, 2010
1:00 - 4:00 PM

Highlights

This workshop will introduce you to FuelCost2, a newly developed Excel-based model designed to assist transit operators in their evaluation of fuel choices for new transit buses. FuelCost2 applies basic user inputs to provide simultaneous comparison of three purchase choices with respect to lifecycle costs and regulated emissions. A ranked comparison of other factors includes lifecycle greenhouse gas production, technology maturity, and regional economy.

After an overview of model input, output, and default data applications, the workshop will focus on customization of more detailed data used in the model to allow more specific comparisons.

Registrants will be e-mailed a copy of the FuelCost2 model (see “Requirements”, below), and are asked to bring a laptop with the downloaded file.

Attendees are encouraged to bring cost estimates (i.e., capital and O&M costs for buses and facilities) and emissions information on purchase options they are considering to customize their FuelCost2 output for their needs.

This is a must-attend event for bus procurement decision-makers and purchasing advisors. This workshop is open to all 2010 Bus and Paratransit Conference attendees.
