The American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) 2011 Bus & Paratransit Conference & International Bus Roadeo will be held May 22-25 at the Memphis Marriott Downtown Hotel and Memphis Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee. APTA is pleased to invite its members to submit half-page abstracts by November 12, 2010 on the following suggested technical/educational topics:

  • Safety & Security
  • Sustainability
  • Technology
  • Workforce Development

Planning Schedule

November 12, 2010 Abstracts due to APTA
December 10, 2010 Author notification
March 4, 2011 Papers due to APTA
May 22-25, 2011 Conference proceedings available online

You are encouraged to share your professional expertise with transit industry peers and showcase your projects. By submitting an abstract, authors are proposing to prepare a paper of about ten pages in length for the conference proceedings.

APTA plans to receive approval from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), the professional institute of the American Planning Association, to award Certification Management credits tailored to meet the needs of new and experienced planning officials at the 2011 APTA Bus & Paratransit Conference & International Bus Roadeo. If you are submitting abstracts addressing topics such as planning and sustainability, APTA is requesting that you also send to Cheryl Pyatt at cpyatt@apta.com a bio for you and any co-authors that are certified members of the American Planning Association.
