Accessible Transportation

Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) operates accessible fixed route bus service and rail in Memphis. All buses are accessible and lifts or ramps are located at all trolley stations. MATA also operates MATAplus, paratransit service for persons with disabilities.

If you need paratransit service during your stay in Memphis, please contact in advance MATA’s James Anglin at 901.722.7144 or janglin@matatransit.com. Please note that you must have prior certification to use this service.

Transportation from Memphis International Airport

Please note that MATA added shuttles to the Peabody on Wednesday and Thursday.

MATA Shuttle Service to the Peabody and Marriott Hotels

MATA is providing shuttle service from Memphis International Airport to the Peabody and Marriott Hotels, departing on the hour and half hour:

  • On Wednesday 5/18 - between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 pm.
  • On Thursday 5/19, Friday 5/20, Saturday 5/21, Sunday 5/22 - between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Buses will pick-up on the UPPER level outside baggage claim on the 3rd row at the MATA bus stop near the east end by American Airlines (please note the change from lower level to upper level due to construction).

Please be prepared to handle your own luggage.

Taxis

Taxis depart from the terminal B baggage claim area on the ground level. A taxi coordinator is stationed in the Taxi Booth from 5:30 a.m. till the last flight of the day, to assist passengers with questions or concerns. An approximate fare to Downtown Memphis is $30.

MATA Shuttle Service to Memphis International Airport

Shuttles will run from the Peabody and Marriott Hotels to Memphis International Airport on Wednesday, May 25, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Thursday, May 26, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Transportation from Central Station (Amtrak)

If you are arriving at Memphis via Amtrak, MATA’s vintage trolley line is easily accessible from Central Station to the Marriott Hotel, and is a block from the Peabody. For other arrangements from Central Station call Labarbara Houston at 901.722.7140 or email lhouston@matatransit.com.

Complimentary Transit Pass

When you register for the conference, you'll receive a complimentary transit pass good for all MATA services during the conference. There are plenty of fun things to see and do in Memphis. Visit the Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau Web site for some ideas.
