Schedule for the 2016 International Bus Roadeo.

As of May 9, 2016

Shuttle service will be provided between the Charlotte Omni and the Westin to the roadeo site. The Roadeo shuttle will be available every 15 minutes between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, competition day, the service begins at 7:30 a.m. for spectators. Maps and directions will be available at the roadeo and conference registration desks.

APTA Bus & Paratransit Conference & International Bus Roadeo Workshops is Designed for Bus Roadeo Contestants:
** Roadeo committee, competitors and supervisors are welcome at all conference activities. these highlighted sessions are formatted for Roadeo participants. More information can be found in the Bus & Paratransit conference program/App.

The Americans with Disability Act: 25 Years of Progress and There's Still More to Learn

This workshop will cover the ADA's 25-year history and teach us why it is just as relevant for today's transit operations. The training will cover topics such as driver assistance, service animals, and general ADA information, as well as customer rights and responsibilities. There will be opportunities for open discussion and questions/answer on the ADA. This training will also explore the U.S. Dot final rule for reasonable modifications/accommodations to policies, practices, and procedures. Participants will get a review of the FTA guidance document, work through multiple examples to understand the extend of this requirement, and receive answers to their questions about how this new rule applies to and impacts the provision of transportation service. Workshop participants will get to participant in a fun question an answer session that will test your wits regarding your knowledge of the ADA. The class will include peer-to-peer sharing, a list of helpful resources on the ADA for future reference, and hands-on exercises to help participants apply their knowledge gained.

Technician Workshop

Electric Fan Engine Cooling System Operation, Diagnostics and Troubleshooting

EMP's Mini-Hybrid® engine cooling system is part of the Roadeo Mechanic's competition in both the Cummins-Allison and Cummins-Voith modules. Come see the newest product which utilizes EMP's new 15" fan and lean more about how the system works and get diagnostic and troubleshooting tips. A functioning Gen IV system and a vehicle simulator will be used to demonstrate the service tool and real failure examples will be used to explain the troubleshooting process.
