Please join us this summer in Baltimore, MD for APTA’s 2012 Multimodal Operations Planning Workshop, one of America’s leading venues for transit professionals. As one of the largest cities on the east coast, Baltimore offers its public a diverse transportation system.
Our hosts this year are Maryland Transit Administration and Montgomery County Transit – Ride On. MTA will provide a broad overview of the region’s transit as they work to integrate the efforts of a number of agencies. MTA is one of the few state transit agencies that is an operator of bus, subway, light rail, commuter rail, and commuter bus, as well as an overseer of locally operated transit systems (LOTS), such as Ride On. Ride On will offer their insights from the local agency perspective as well as how they fit in the Suburban Maryland/Washington, D.C. region as the largest suburban operator.
Sessions will include transit planning for special events and natural disasters, planning for facilities, updates on new and existing operations, and how to get more value with fewer resources. Technical tours of Baltimore’s massive transit area will highlight how this city deals with the ever evolving issues that affect transit agencies today. This is truly a conference for both new planners and veterans alike!
This workshop is your opportunity to make new contacts with the best planners and schedulers in the business. It is a place to share progress, challenges, and best practices. Make your plans today to join us in Baltimore from July 30 – August 1. We look forward to seeing you there!
