About the International Rail Rodeo
Showcasing men and women who keep our rail systems moving, the rail rodeo tests operators’ and maintainers’ skills against those of their peer groups.
Operators’ are measured on operating skills, including knowledge of safety regulations, train equipment, wayside rules, regulations, and procedures. Rail car maintainers’ are tested on electrical and mechanical knowledge, trouble shooting and diagnostic abilities, along with safety awareness and procedures.
Who should attend: Rail operators and maintainers teams.

Evening at Gilley's
Registrants and their guests are invited to dinner, music, dance lessons, mechanical bull riding and much more at Gilley’s Dallas on Saturday evening. Come meet the First Family of Transit as we kick-off the APTA Rail Conference As Big As Texas. The venue is only one short light rail stop from the host hotel. So, dust off those boots, pack your western wear, and plan on an evening of fun and entertainment. No fee required, just indicate your attendance by checking the box on your registration form.
