Public Transportation Options

From: Amtrak (Northeast Corridor D.C area)
To: Hyatt Hotel (Jersey City, NJ)

  1. Take the Amtrak Northeast Corridor Train to Newark Penn Station (Accessible Station).
  2. Once at Newark Penn, take the WTC bound PATH train to the Exchange Place station in Jersey City.

  1. Take the airport monorail from your airport terminal to the NJ TRANSIT Air-Train platform.
    ($free) 7 minutes from Terminal C
  2. Purchase your ticket at the TVM Machines before boarding the NJ TRANSIT Air-Train to Newark Penn Station.

  3. Once at Newark Penn, take the WTC bound PATH train to the Exchange Place station in Jersey City.

PATH Service

The PATH train is NOT located in New York Penn Station.
At the intersection of West 33rd Street and 6th Avenue.
Take the PATH train to Newport Station (Elevator Station) and change trains for Exchange Place (Elevator Station).

Accessible Transportation

At NJ TRANSIT, we strive to make our transportation options simple and available for everyone. This includes the accessible services that are available to people with disabilities and senior citizens.

Access Link

Access Link is public transportation for people with disabilities who are unable to use the local fixed route bus. It is designed to comply with the paratransit regulations of the ADA. Access Link service is comparable to the local fixed route bus and light rail systems.

Eligibility:

Key Characteristics are as follows:

  • Curb to Curb service – customers must be able to get to and from the curb at origin and destination locations
  • Operates during the same days and hours as the local fixed route buses, if there is no bus service, there is no Access Link service
  • Shared-ride system
  • Same fare as the local fixed route bus and Exact fare required
  • Reservations must be made 1-7 days in advance of a trip
  • Cancellations must be made no later than 90 minutes prior to a requested pick up time
  • Vehicle can wait up to 5 minutes for the customer to meet the vehicle
  • Customer can bring packages or items they can carry in one trip only
  • Mobility devices may not be broken or malfunctioning and must be 30” x 48” with a combined weight of 600 lbs. or less
  • Child passenger restraint system (child car seat) or booster seat must be provided by the customer for any child under the age of 8 who weighs less than 80 pounds
  • Customer must be pre-approved to travel with a PCA (personal care attendant)
  • Origin and destination of all Access Link trips must fall within ? mile of a local bus route

What if I don’t live in New Jersey

  • Visitors from out of state may use Access Link for up to 21 days in a 365-day period from the day of your first trip.
  • You must call NJ TRANSIT at 1-800-955-2321 and ask to be eligible as a visitor in the state of New Jersey. Choose the "not a certified Access Link rider" menu option and request to speak with a Certification Assistant.
  • If you think you may need Access Link for more than 21 days in a 365-day period then you must apply for Access Link through the NJ TRANSIT in-person assessment process. If you are planning to move to New Jersey and think you may need Access Link we recommend you call ahead to schedule an assessment appointment to avoid any delays (see Eligibility-Applying for Access Link).
