Statement on the Resignation of U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta

Washington, D.C. - The following is APTA President William W. Millar's statement on today's announcement of U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta's resignation.

"It is an understatement to say that Norm Mineta has been a most distinguished Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation. His breadth of experience and his depth of understanding of transportation issues are unparalleled. He has worked relentlessly to advance transportation choices for all Americans, and we owe him a debt of gratitude for his many, many years of public service.

His many friends in the public transportation industry thank him and wish him the very best."
