 Chairman James Oberstar Gets Bottom Line From Transportation Officials -- Price Tag to Relieve Congestion, `Go Green` and Improve Highway Safety 

 

(Washington, DC, April 23, 2009)—Rep. James Oberstar (D-MN), chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will be presented with the Bottom Line Report; the most recent analysis of highway and transit investment needs on Friday, April 24. The report, prepared by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), outlines the cost to improve highways, increase safety, reduce traffic congestion and expand transit. It also demonstrates the public benefits from these investments and serves as a blueprint for the future of transportation in America.
