The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) today announced their 2009-2010 Executive Committee before more than 1,500 public transit professionals at the 2009 APTA Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL. The Executive Committee will be led by Chair Mattie P. Carter, commissioner of the Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) in Tennessee, who succeeds Dr. Bev Scott, general manager of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.
In addition to the Chair, First Vice Chair Michael J. Scanlon, general manager and chief executive officer of the San Mateo County Transit District and Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, and Secretary Treasurer Nathaniel P. Ford Sr., executive director and chief executive officer of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency were also elected by the APTA members.
The Executive Committee is comprised of individuals who are elected by APTA members.
