During the first week after Labor Day, on September 8, 2011, APTA and its members will mobilize around an effort called “Transportation Works” developed by the APTA Marketing and Communications Committee.

This effort will demonstrate the value of federal investment in public transit and highlight the connection among public transit and jobs.  It will raise public awareness of how federal dollars are being returned to the community in investments in public transit infrastructure.

To assist transit and business members in participating, APTA has developed the following toolkit.  The messages will focus on the impact of a lack of investment on real businesses and their ability to survive and create jobs.  It will also highlight how the public transit user is affected by a lack of investment.
