APTA Chair M.P. Carter's year-long "Telling Our Story" initiative culminated in a Washington, D.C., event on September 22, 2010, when public transportation supporters from across the nation gathered to present petitions to Congress — signed by thousands of people — in support of a long-term transportation authorization bill.
The program brought together members of Congress and representatives of public transit agencies and bus manufacturers with Americans who had stories to tell.
