The American Public Transportation Association is hosting its 10th Annual Photo Invitational.
The invitational seeks photos from APTA members that depict public transportation’s significance, value and benefits of opportunity, access, freedom, and mobility, which enable everyone in the community to accomplish what is important to them, all the while making communities stronger and more vibrant.
Working quietly in the background every day, public transportation makes communities more livable and allows seniors and individuals with disabilities to go where they want to go, while at the same time public transportation vitalizes the economy, protects the environment, and helps America achieve energy independence. Public transportation has a great story to tell -- and we need your help to tell it.
Winning photos show people benefiting from public transportation as they get to work, appointments, school, events or countless other destinations. The best photos depict public transportation vehicles in action with the community and transit employees and are in a variety of natural working conditions for public transportation that depicts seasonal activities, promotions, special events, and diverse weather conditions.
Finally, photos should capture human emotion and make the connection of how people or communities benefit from public transportation.
Rules:
There is no entry fee required to compete in the 10th Annual Public Transportation: Takes Us There Photo Invitational and there is no limit on the number of photos that can be submitted.
All entries must be submitted by mail and must include the following:

A CD containing all photos that must be high resolution images

A color print out of each photo on the CD

Entries must be clearly marked with the entrant’s name, company name, address, phone number and e-mail

Photographer’s name for photo credit

Entries with people prominently featured must be accompanied by a signed photo release – If hired actors were involved (sample release is provided below)
All photos become the proper of the American Public Transportation Association and will not be returned.
All photos entered in the invitational become part of the American Public Transportation Association’s photo library, meaning they may be used in a variety of forms besides the annual APTA sponsored calendar.
