APTA works closely with our U.S. Government relationships, including the U.S. Federal Transit Administration, the U.S. Federal Railroad Administration, and the U.S. Commercial Service, as well as with other governments abroad, to provide beneficial trade mission programs where there are opportunities for business exchanges and presentations on how to do business in that certain country. Suggestions are always welcome!

The Annual U.S.-China Transportation Forums
The 5th U.S.-China Transportation Forum took place from November 28-29, 2012 in Hangzhou, China. APTA co-organized the Urban Congestion Working Group with our partners, the China Academy of Transportation Sciences (CATS), which focused on public transportation standardization. Participants in the UCWG had the opportunity to study the local transit system, including BRT, bike share system, and the a new subway line that opened just three days before the visit.

Mark your calendars! The 6th Annual U.S.-China Transportation Forum will take place in late 2013, this time in the U.S.!
Reverse Trade Missions
The U.S. public transportation industry has lots to offer to the international market, and many times delegations from outside of the U.S. will visit us in hopes of learning about products and services, and possibly even purchase our goods and services to better serve their communities. The U.S. Trade and Development Agency sponsors many such delegations, and often invites APTA members to be a part of the exchange.
