 International Programs

Welcome to APTA's International Programs!

APTA's International Programs was created to help you learn about opportunities designed to enhance your competitive edge and be actively involved in the global public transportation marketplace. APTA has an extensive international public transportation network supported by international partnerships, as well as ongoing collaborations with the U.S. Government agencies, located both domestically and abroad, with the sole objective to advance U.S. exports.

Whether you are interested in exporting a product, expanding your business abroad, or simply learning about public transportation in regions outside of North America, APTA's International Program is here to help!

For more information regarding any of the international activities or programs please contact Mariela Garcia-Colberg, Program Manager- International Programs, at (202) 496-4833 or mgarciacolbert@apta.com.

APTA International Programs - At a Glance

  • Study Missions
APTA organizes missions where our members are able to explore and learn about public transportation systems around the world.
  • Trade Missions
The majority of the world's consumers are outside of the United States. APTA conducts trade missions overseas to countries interested in doing business with the U.S. public transportation industry.
  • Virtual Trade Missions
APTA's Virtual Trade Missions (VTM) are much more affordable alternatives to Trade Missions...absolutely free! Conducted in webinar format, APTA members can listen to presentations on hard projects going on in a particular country that they may be interested in doing business.
  • International Conferences and Events
To help our members take advantage of the many learning and networking opportunities provided by other organizations, we maintain a list of conferences related to the global transit industry.
  • International Transportation Links
Visit this section of the website to find a worldwide list of transit agency websites, sorted by country and region. Not seeing what you are looking for? Let us know and we will do further research!
  • APTA Business Member International Business Development Subcommittee
If you are an APTA Business Member interested in taking your business abroad, then join this unique subcommittee of the Business Member Board of Governors and receive information on international business exchanges and procurements on a regular basis.
