WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 29, 2021) – “Last night, in his joint address to Congress, President Biden once again called for the most significant federal infrastructure investment in generations.

This forward-thinking investment in public transit and passenger rail will help our communities meet growing mobility demands, create family-wage jobs, expand U.S. manufacturing and supply chains, and grow the economy. It puts us on the path to increase access to opportunities for all Americans and build more equitable communities, while also addressing the environmental and sustainability challenges facing our communities, nation, and the world.

Public transportation is ready to bring riders back—to jobs, schools, and entertainment—advancing our nation’s economic and social recovery. I urge the President and Congressional leaders to take this historic opportunity to focus on forward-looking investment that modernizes public transit systems and meets the growing mobility demands of communities large and small. The time is now to make a transformational investment in our national infrastructure.”
