      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for directing and managing the operation and function of the MARTA Department of Safety and Quality Assurance.
      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field is required. Registration as a certified Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or comparable certification is highly desirable.
      Ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in developing and implementing safety and quality assurance programs in a complex setting are required. At least five years’ experience as supervisor or manager of highly skilled/ technical professional staff are required. Experience attained in public or private sector transportation organizations is highly desirable. Experience in providing oversight in the area of risk management is highly preferable.
      Extensive knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding industrial safety and a working knowledge of the policies and guidelines of the Environmental Protection Agency is required. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required. In lieu of a degree, directly related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

      We are currently recruiting for the position of Senior Director, Business Services in its Business Services Division. The successful candidate will oversee and manage the day-to-day procurement process of SEPTA’s Procurement and Supply Chain Management Department. This will involve the organizing, directing, controlling, and managing all activities to ensure strategic procurement and excellent business performance. Will be responsible for the overall administration and coordination of all procurement, contract administration, compliance, and supply chain management functions.

      The salary range for this position is $103 to $129K, depending on education and experience.

      Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related discipline and fifteen (15) years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or business administration required; which includes a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience at a managerial/supervisory level. MBA and previous transit experience and/or experience within a unionized environment preferred. Excellent computer skills required.
