| The Waccamaw Regional Transportation Authority in South Carolina began an intense marketing campaign to promote its Ocean Boulevard transit services and the newly implemented Ocean Boulevard transit lanes. Focusing on tourists, the campaign featured a variety of print ads, brochures, signage, and media relations, as well as television and radio commercials. The campaign was extremely effective in accomplishing its intended purpose of communicating to a specific audience how fast, fun, frequent, affordable, and dependable transit service is. As a result of the campaign, ridership has soared nearly 500 percent. |
