Research showed that many non-riders believed Utah Transit Authority's service didn't go to many of the places people wanted to travel. This false belief lessened UTA's ability to attract new riders and impacted the system's overall favorability rating and base of public support. To combat this misconception, UTA shot a series of television commercials from a variety of bus and TRAX stops adjacent to some of the most popular destinations in Utah. A simple demonstration in each of the ads showed exactly how close and convenient traveling by UTA can be. The television commercials were featured nationally in AdWeek magazine.
