APTA members are now eligible to enjoy a variety of benefits and discounts as a result of a new cooperative agreement between APTA and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). APTA President William Millar and (SHRM) Senior Vice President David Forman signed a cooperative agreement in which the Board of Directors of APTA and the Society of Human Resource Management recognize the common interests of both organizations to cooperatively pursue activities that enhance the professional development and career advancements of Human Resource (HR) professionals. APTAs Executive Committee approved this agreement when they convened in Philadelphia at APTA's 2001 Annual Meeting.
Opening Doors for on-going HR Needs
This agreement initiates new ways to help support the needs of APTA's human
resource professionals by broadening APTA members'; access to valuable HR-related information resources and assistance needs. SHRM provides education and information services, conferences and seminars, government and media representation, online services and publications to more that 165,000 professional and student members throughout the world.
Special Discount Offers for APTA Members
As a special discount offer, the fee for first-year individual SHRM membership has been reduced from $160 US to $145 US for APTA members. (SHRM only offers individual memberships).
