The American Public Transportation Association (APTA), in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is pleased to announce the launching of the Homeland Security Information Network-Public Transit (HSIN-PT) internet portal. The HSIN-PT portal allows Public Transit Sector members to enhance communication on security, safety, and incident response issues, as well as to share problems, ideas, and solutions with their colleagues and partners in the Public Transit community.
HSIN-PT Features
HSIN-PT users have access to all of the features described below. All HSIN-PT features are available at no cost to Public Transit Sector users or their organizations.
DHS/FBI Homeland Security-related Reports, Incident Bulletins and analytic products relevant to the Public Transit Sector
DHS intelligence fusion and analysis capabilities
Document Library for sharing key DHS & Public Transit Sector documents, including information about available Public Transit Sector Grants and Training
The Mass Transit Resource Center (MTRC), an extensive collection of resources compiled by counter-terrorism training and other relevant academic content experts. These resources are oriented towards safety and security practitioners, and may include funding announcements, descriptions of available training, job announcements, descriptions of industry initiatives and lessons extracted, opinion pieces prepared by practitioners, research results, types of technical assistance available, technological advances, government reports, regulations and testimony relating to the local transportation industry.

Collaboration tools that include Discussion Threads and Instant Messaging
Scrolling news feed customizable to Public Transit Sector interests
Private workspaces for smaller user groups to share documents and discussions on an exclusive basis
Ability to share information and coordinate with other Critical Sectors (as defined by Homeland Security Presidential Directive 7) such as Energy, Public Health, etc.

HSIN-PT membership is available to designated representatives of all Public Transit Sector organizations.
