 Streetcar Subcommittee

Mission Statement

The Streetcar Subcommittee promotes services in the urban centers and serves as a forum for the exchange of information among individuals and organizations in promoting, planning, funding, designing, building, operating and maintenance of such services. It also plays a key role in the development of technical standards and by providing guidance to regulators in setting sensible and reasonable regulatory measures.

Current Issues

  • A revision is in process to the APTA Standard on Vintage/Heritage Trolley Vehicle Equipment (Document # APTA RT-SC-S-001-05 Rev1)

Upcoming Meetings

  • The APTA Streetcar Subcommittee meeting will be held on Wednesday February 27, 2019 in Tucson, AZ. Meet at the City of Tucson Public Works Building, 4th Floor, 201 North Stone Avenue, Tucson, AZ. Meeting will be from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.
  • APTA and TRB will be jointly sponsoring the 14th National LRT & Streetcar Conference on April 7-9 in Jersey City, NJ
