An organization is only as effective as its leadership team. Sound governance is foundational to the success of the management and board leadership team. The board professional is critical to advancing good governance and stewarding and supporting the management-board leadership relationship. A competent and trustworthy board professional can play an invaluable role in supporting the CEO-Board chair partnership and the board-CEO relationship, when empowered to do so. This three-member CEO, board chair and board professional governance team can shape board culture, set strategic direction, define and clarify roles and responsibilities, and implement policies and practices in support of effective governance; and as a result, enhance overall organizational performance. This session will focus on strategies and best practices to fully leverage the governance triad.
