Rosa Parks Bus Wrap
Target Audience: NAACP, African Chamber of Commerce, The Masons California and Alabama Chapter, Church communities, local black leaders, elected officials, and community members in San Joaquin County.
Strategy Objective:The primary goal of this entry was to honor the legacy and impact of Rosa Parks by featuring her on one of our buses as a bus wrap. This project also aimed to provide representation for underrepresented groups in the community. Featuring Rosa Parks on a bus, we hoped to increase public awareness about her contributions to the civil rights movement and inspire people to continue fighting for social justice. Additionally, this project aimed to promote inclusivity and diversity within our community by showcasing an important figure from African American history.
Situation Challenge: Rosa Parks was a courageous leader who played a significant role in the civil rights movement. Her actions not only sparked change in the United States but also inspired people all over the world. To honor her legacy and impact, RTD has proposed a project to feature Rosa Parks on one of our buses as a bus wrap.
Results Impact: The Rosa Parks bus wrap project had a significant impact on the community, resulting in increased public awareness and positive feedback from various organizations. It also sparked conversations about civil rights and inspired people to learn more about Rosa Parks and her contributions. The bus wrap project also received widespread media coverage, leading to an increase in ridership as people wanted to see the iconic figure on the streets of San Joaquin County. This not only benefited RTD but also helped spread awareness about public transportation and its role in promoting equality and inclusivity.
Why Submit: Representation matters--it is crucial for young people and minorities to see themselves and their communities represented in public spaces. By featuring Rosa Parks on one of our buses, we are not only honoring her, but also providing representation for underrepresented groups. This project serves as a reminder that everyone, regardless of their background or social status can make a differences.
