AC Transit Zero Emission Bus University Video

Target Audience: The target audience for the video was AC Transit stakeholders, advocates, and the local community.

Strategy Objective:The October 3 event was an exciting day for AC Transit, but we also wanted to showcase ZEBU (Zero Emission Bus University) more broadly. The video celebrated both the partnership with Chabot College, as well as the Low-No Grant, while also highlighting our innovative workforce development program to the broader community. The video features both sound bytes and on-screen text that help tell the story of the ZEBU and AC Transit's already vibrant and growing workforce and plans for a greener future.

Situation Challenge: ZEBU is AC Transit's renowned workforce development program, recognized by the state of California and the federal government for excellence in technical training, career development, and apprenticeships. On October 3, we hosted FTA Deputy Administrator, Veronica Vanterpool, to celebrate the award of two Lo-No Grants and the launch of the nation's first ZEB-focused, transit-collegiate partnership with Chabot College, paving the way for innovative learning in zero-emission transit. We wanted to share this exciting day with our community, while also producing a piece that could be used as a recruitment tool for both bus operators and mechanics while building the green workforce of the future.

Results Impact: The video was shared on YouTube, X, and LinkedIn and has generated 2,847 impressions, 207 engagements, and has 461 views on YouTube so far. The video has also been used to educate funding partners in a variety of elected offices, both locally and federally. The video will continue to be used to educate and inform audiences across our service area about the ZEBU workforce development project, especially as a tool to recruit the workforce of the future.

Why Submit: This video should win an AdWheel because it effectively introduces the ZEBU program, while celebrating and highlighting partnerships and funding that are making this program possible. The high-production quality and evergreen content of the video lends itself to being used on a variety of platforms for an extended period of time.
