Target Audience: Commuters, shoppers and tourists that need passage to and from San Francisco from the Solano County Transits' (SolTrans)Vallejo Transit Center.

Strategy Objective:To promote Solano County Transits' (SolTrans) partnering with WETA's Vallejo Ferry commuter providing an alternative way to and from San Francisco.

Situation Challenge: A partnership with WETA (Vallejo Ferry) and Solano County Transit (SolTrans) to enhance the commuter ridership combined with the local communities tourism to and from San Francisco. Many local residents use the ferry to commute to work and also use it to go to SF for meals, museums, Professional Sports and other various entertainment venues. The Partnership came from supporting the ferry with these local rides by creating SolTrans' new Route 82.

Results Impact: Solano County Transits' (SolTrans) new Route 82 was well received as an alternative to get to and from San Francisco. Also it provided a way home if workers and tourists missed the last Ferry back to the Vallejo Terminal. This new Route is being promoted by both Solano County Transit (SolTrans) and WETA (Vallejo Ferry).

Why Submit: This entry was submitted to show a great partnership campaign that helped promote new ridership and extended service for both transit agencies. Having Solano County Transit (SolTrans) working with WETA (Vallejo Ferry) to gain ridership was a huge win-win.
