APTA Applauds Release of FTA Bus Infrastructure Grants

The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) applauded the release of $366.2 million in grants to modernize and improve bus infrastructure projects nationwide.  APTA officials note that these funds were released through the leadership of the U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Acting Administrator K. Jane Williams.

The following is a statement from APTA President and CEO Paul P. Skoutelas.

“APTA expresses its thanks to Secretary Elaine Chao and FTA Acting Administrator Jane Williams for awarding these funds to continue to improve the safe and reliable service provided by public transportation bus systems across America. These grants will be an injection of sorely needed funds supporting 107 projects representing public transit bus service in all fifty states. They are key as we continue to strive to modernize our systems to enhance our service for all riders nationwide. We look forward to continuing to work closely with our partners at DOT and FTA to make crucial improvements to our public transit infrastructure.”
