The Marketing & Communications Committee’s mission is to create maximum support and use of public transportation and the benefits it brings to communities and customers, promote excellence in marketing and communications in the public transportation industry, support APTA’s strategic plan and be APTA’s primary advisor on issues that pertain to the image of public transportation, broaden the understanding and integration of marketing as a critical component in the management of public transportation, enhance the skills of public transportation marketing practitioners, and promote the exchange of marketing-related information and techniques. The committee directs the annual AdWheel Awards program, Get on Board Day, and the annual APTA Marketing & Communications Workshop; develops sessions in the area of marketing and communications for all APTA conferences; and led the development of the Public Transit Gets us There program.

Committee membership is open to all employees of APTA members in good standing, and participation in one or more committees/subcommittees is encouraged and welcomed.
Except for those committees listed as “by appointment only,” you may join a committee or subcommittee by submitting the Committee Interest Form. Upon receipt of your request, you will be added to the committee/subcommittee and contacted by the staff advisor.
