Pilot Project Webinar #4: Sacramento RTD Micro-Mobility Integration and Partnerships

Beginning in September 2018, SacRT launched a partnership with JUMP Bike to strategically place electric-electric-assist bikes and supporting charging stations at light rail *(LRT) stations.  The availability of bike-share options at LRT stations has boosted train ridership by attracting people whose work, home or other destination is beyond walking distance from a transit station.  When the program is fully implemented, JUMP bikes will be available at 23 of 52 LRT stations.  SacRT is also in discussion with e-scooter providers in the region, with the objective for making this still another first-mile / last-mile solution.

Pilot Project Webinar #3: TriMet’s Hop Fastpass—Open Architecture in Fare Payment

Portland TriMet has adopted the principle of open architecture to design of its Hop Fastpass (Hop) fare payment system.  With open architecture, TriMet was able to connect Hop with adjacent transit systems while maintaining flexibility to deploy new or improved technologies in the future.

The account-based Hop system offers features such as autoloading and fare capping, and it accommodates a variety of payment options including contactless payments via credit cards, debit cards, and smartphone.   A building-block to Mobility-as-a-service

This webinar will focus on the success and challenges of building Hop, and the motivations behind it.  Resources will be shared to assist other agencies establish their own approach to fare payment systems.

Pilot Project Webinar #2: A Denver RTD Program: Enabling Payment of Transit Trips Through The Uber App

Tuesday, May 7, 2019:

Regional Transportation District (RTD) in Denver is poised to become the first transit agency in the United States to sell tickets through a ride hail app. Users of the Uber app in Denver currently see transit options alongside ride hail and will soon be able to pay for a transit ticket through the Uber app itself. Costs of the new program are borne by the private partners (Uber and Masabi).

This webinar will focus on the success and challenges of the program, what it takes to get an innovative idea started, and provide resources to assist others get their projects off and running.

Pilot Project Webinar #1: Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority’s TD Late Shift Program​
