8th World Congress on High Speed Rail (UIC HIGHSPEED 2012)

The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and the International Union of Railways (UIC) announce that the United States will host the 8th World Congress on High-speed Rail. The World Congress is the world’s eminent gathering on high-speed rail and is expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees from across the globe to exchange views on the development and achievements of high-speed rail worldwide.
UIC World High Speed Interaction Workshop
April 18-20, 2012 in Taipei
The 2nd UIC World High Speed Interaction Workshop specialising in the maintenance of High Speed Rail Systems (HSRS) will take place in Taipei from 18 to 20 April 2012. This workshop will be a special opportunity for HSR operators and infrastructure managers to exchange experience and best practice on the maintenance of HSR systems (V>or=250km/h) as well as for future and potential HSR operators and infrastructure managers to learn alongside their more experienced counterparts.
- UIC Training on High Speed Systems – Level 2
March 19-23, 2012 in Spain (Madrid and other cities)
This level two course builds on the training UIC has offered since 2004. Level 2 THSS will be held in Spain in March 2012 thanks to the cooperation of Spanish stakeholders in the field of high speed (Renfe Operadora, Adif and Fundación de los Ferrocarriles Españoles FFE), giving the possibility of showing several different technologies and examples of integration of systems. Target audience: Managers, strategy experts, decision-makers, economists, banks, industry.
