San Diego, CA
Beverly Neff is a Senior Transportation Planner for the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS). She manages transit planning for San Diego’s South Bay and East County areas – comprising over half of MTS’ service area. She is currently working on the implementation of MTS’ Transit Optimization Plan (TOP), which was a comprehensive evaluation to ensure that MTS services are efficient and effective for the region’s travel needs.
Previous responsibilities at MTS over her 12 year career have included managing MTS’ Passenger Facilities, where she reviewed designs, oversaw construction, and provided ongoing maintenance for all MTS Bus Passenger Facilities. She worked very closely with SANDAG, San Diego’s MPO, to implement all new BRT services.
Beverly is a member of various other transportation organizations such as Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and the Southern California Stops & Zones Committee.
Before beginning her career in transportation, Beverly obtained four college degrees from San Diego State University and San Diego Community College: Public Administration, English, Liberal Arts, and Global Competencies.
Beverly’s hobbies include traveling, eating, and visiting stadiums and transit centers. With every new place she visits, her goal is to use public transit, attend a sporting event, and eat something distinctive from the local area.
Beverly currently serves as a Director for the Journey program in AWANA International’s San Diego chapter. She mentors high school students to become lifelong disciples and valuable members of society via personal growth and community service. She not only provides guidance to her students throughout high school, but also provides continued support after graduation to promote their educational and professional advancement.
