APTA’s transit agency members are public entities responsible for planning, operating, and maintaining public transportation systems that serve communities across the North America. APTA’s transit management company members are private organizations that contract with public agencies to operate, manage, and maintain transit services. These companies bring specialized expertise in areas such as operations, maintenance, safety, workforce management, and performance optimization across bus, rail, paratransit, and multimodal systems. As APTA members, transit management companies collaborate with public agencies and industry partners to share best practices, support innovation, and help deliver reliable, cost-effective, and customer-focused transportation services.
Governmental Agencies
APTA’s governmental agency members includes local and regional government agencies responsible for the planning and/or development of public transit systems.
