The Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) develops near-term, practical solutions to problems facing public transportation. TCRP is sponsored by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and carried out by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), in partnership with the American Public Transportation Association (APTA).

Sponsored by the Federal Transit Administration, the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) serves as one of the principal means by which the public transportation industry can develop innovative near-term solutions to meet demands placed on it. TCRP has an established reputation for providing useful reports and other tools to help public transportation practitioners solve problems and inform decision makers.

TCRP Ambassadors participate in industry events and visit transportation providers in order to educate the public transit industry on the wide variety of solution-based research available from TCRP. The essential role of an Ambassador is to be a liaison between TCRP, its member organizations, the research community, and transportation properties.

TCRP invites you to nominate yourself or other qualified individuals to serve on the expert panels that will oversee these studies by Monday, September 14, 2026, via the MyTRB Panel Nominations Portal.
Letters of Interest
TCRP also is inviting qualified individuals and organizations interested in conducting these synthesis studies to submit a Letter of Interest. Please submit Letters of Interest by Friday, September 21, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST via the Letters of Interest Submission Portal.
