“As Americans mark Tax Day, APTA applauds two provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that will deliver real results for the public transportation industry and the workers who power it. The elimination of taxes on overtime pay puts more money in the pockets of frontline bus operators, maintenance crews, and passenger rail workers who keep America moving — many of whom regularly work extended shifts to meet service demands. And the restoration of immediate R&D expensing provides domestic transit vehicle and technology manufacturers the investment needed to innovate, grow, and create good-paying jobs here at home.”
