Abstract

This standard contains minimum requirements for emergency signage and low-location exit path Markings for rail transit vehicles using passive means (non-electrically powered illumination) of marking exit paths to safety.

Summary

This standard was developed to establish minimum requirements for interior and exterior emergency signage to assist in locating and operating emergency exits and access points for rail transit vehicles. This standard also provides minimum requirements for LLEPM systems that provide visual guidance to locate and operate emergency exits and access points during conditions of low visibility or darkness.
