Roadway Worker Protection Program Requirements
This Standard provides minimum program requirements for roadway worker protection (RWP). Such programs are designed to protect all roadway workers, whether directly employed by the RTS or a contractor, conducting work on or near rail transit system (RTS) rights-of-way. Programs require adherence to
clear rules and procedures, appropriate training, certification and retraining, as well as regular monitoring of right-of-way safety compliance. It is designed to incorporate all of these elements and introduce a consistent approach throughout the rail transit industry.
