Summary
Security lighting may be one of the most cost-effective and universally accepted security measures any organization can use to improve its security posture. Effective security lighting both deters criminal behavior and enhances safety, thereby reducing overall risk. Properly designed and planned security lighting can create a sense of openness and security for passengers. Security lighting aids the ability to observe and monitor movements through the facilities and supports the fundamental principles of crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED).
