Advertising & Circulation Coordinator
Washington, DC-based trade association has need for a flexible team player with a positive attitude and great listening skills to perform customer service and production functions for the fast-paced classified advertising section of its bi-weekly newspaper. Serves as the primary point of contact for all subscribers’ phone and e-mail inquiries regarding circulation/fulfillment and classified ads. Also handles production, which includes marking-up ad copy for formatting as well as proofreading pages.
Previous experience with subscription service in a newspaper/newsletter environment helpful. Two-year Associates’ Degree required at a minimum. At least 3-5 years of progressively responsible office technical experience required, including efficiency in database research and generating reports. This multi-tasking position also requires excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills in addition to accurate typing and word processing capability. Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, are essential, with a particular emphasis on customer service. Computer proficiency mandatory.

Administrative Assistant
Public transportation association seeks Assistant to handle correspondence, telephone calls, and on-site logistics of association conferences, workshops, and committee meetings.
Must be organized and have the ability to produce accurate complete work.
High school graduate with a minimum of 3 to 5 years secretarial experience; some college preferred.
The position requires a high degree of skill in grammar, spelling and punctuation; accurate, next and complete typing.
Excellent skills and experience with the entire MS Office Suite required.
Good communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
Excellent proofreading skills.
Individual must be capable of performing substantial administrative functions and work with minimum supervision.
Individual must be able to handle several projects simultaneously.
Good organizational skills are a must.
Travel may be required.

Director-Technical Services
Public transportation association seeks dynamic individual for Director-Technical Services for the Association.
Incumbent:
Will be responsible for oversight and management of many transit technical services such as development and maintenance of transit industry standards in such areas as: procurement, materials management, design, construction, operations, maintenance and facilities.
Will also be responsible for the work of several technical committees as well as planning and preparation of technical content for conferences, workshops and seminars.
Must be able to represent the association’s position regarding legislative, regulatory, and safety issues; and understand members’ operations, technical and financial issues.
Must be able to establish and maintain effective contacts with relevant government agencies, trade associations and groups that are involved with issues of interest to the association.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of project or technical/management experience in, or pertaining to, public transportation. Must have proven team-building and staff management skills, excellent project management skills, demonstrated oral and written communications skills and a passion for providing quality service to members. Must be able to work independently and under pressure with multiple deadlines.
