APTA provides up-to-date legislative information and analysis on bills, regulatory actions, and executive actions concerning passenger rail to our more than 1,600 public- and private-sector member organizations. Our members include intercity passenger railroads, 30 of 32 commuter rail agencies operating in the United States (which account 99 percent of commuter rail ridership), railroad operator and crew labor organizations, and private-sector service operators, manufacturers, and suppliers for the passenger rail industry.
