DIRECTOR OF TRANSIT

The Transportation Department at University of California, San Francisco is seeking a Director of Transit.

The Director will oversee UCSF’s complex transit services that include: Shuttle Operations, Fleet Management and Compliance & Safety.  The Director will be responsible for realigning the transit service reflecting COVID-19 impacts and strategically planning for the continued growth; operating an extensive transit system with a focus on the safety of the drivers and passengers, managing a fleet of 100+ vehicles, and leading a diverse unionized workforce of over 105 FTEs. MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR

MTD, in Champaign-Urbana IL, is seeking candidates for a Maintenance Director. The Maintenance Director has the responsibility of managing all phases of vehicle maintenance operations as well as engages in capital-­related projects. Utilizing Department resources, the Maintenance Director oversees the execution of a maintenance program that ensures efficient execution of work assignments and the availability of a sufficient number of vehicles to fill service assignments.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in public administration, business, facility management, facility maintenance, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a related work setting is required.
  • Specific training and/or extensive experience in maintenance or a related field, preferably in a senior management position, is required.
  • Prior experience in supervising, directing, and/or training employees is required.
  • Hold, or obtain after hire, an Illinois Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and airbrake endorsement is required.

ADVANCED MOBILITY COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

Division: Mobility Systems & Communications

Location: Remote

The role holder will be customer and commercially focused, connected to emerging transportation, transportation technology, and consumer trends, able to envision and develop new business models and build compelling cases to take projects forward. Technologies include intelligent transportation systems, IOT, connected vehicle, traffic management systems, and other related technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Build market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships
  • Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones both in the US and internationally
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Enhance organization’s reputation by accelerating innovation, technologies and workforce development that maximize the combined experience of the group

Qualifications:

  • Licensed PMP, PE or PTOE preferred
  • Able to meet 50% travel expectation. Extended travel on short notice likely, including overseas. Must have passport and able to obtain visas.

KANAWHA VALLEY REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (KVRTA)

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/GENERAL MANAGER

The Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority (KVRTA) located in Charleston WV, is searching for a strategic leader to direct the programs, services, and its staff. KVRTA employs 140 individuals, serving a 913 square mile area with 20 fixed routes, operates a fleet of 49 buses and carried 1.6 million passengers a year (pre-COVID).  Additionally, KVRTA provides ADA Complementary Paratransit Service with 13 specially equipped vans.  KVRTA’s annual operating budget is approximately $13.3 million, and the Authority is supported locally by an excess property tax levy in effect until June 30,2024. Education/Knowledge
A bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Public Administration, or a comparable equivalent is preferred. Experience and education related to a transit setting or a related field is required.  A thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and equipment related to public transportation is also required. Knowledge and application of federal, state, and local government regulations is required.

Experience
Extensive experience in public transportation planning/management with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience, including a minimum of 5 years at a senior management level. An additional requirement is experience preparing and monitoring budgets, services, experience in labor relations, union negotiations, and system performance monitoring as well as the ability to prepare and present reports.

KVRTA offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. KVRTA plans to fill this position in the summer of 2021.
