The APTA Standards Program has advanced several documents for public review and comment. We are seeking feedback from all industry stakeholders to help shape the language found in these documents. The Public Comment period is an essential component of APTA’s consensus-based standards development process.

We invite all rail and bus transit executive-level administrators, operators, transit security professionals, procurement, and rail signals and communications personnel to provide their criticisms, comments, or recommendations. APTA will accept any and all comments from industry stakeholders through March 4, 2022.

The current set of documents address the following topics:

Commuter, Intercity & HSR – Mechanical

  • Low-Speed Curving Performance of Railroad Passenger Equipment

Security & Emergency Management – Infrastructure & System Security

  • Identifying Suspicious Behavior in Mass Transit

Security & Emergency Management – Security & Emergency Management

  • Transit Exercises

To view these documents and submit any comments visit the Standards Public Comment page.

If you experience any difficulties submitting your feedback on APTA’s secured website, please email our team at standards@apta.com.
